TATTOO PREPARATION
Maximize comfort and results with these easy preparations before your appointment.
-
This is your tattoo journey! Speak up if you:
Prefer a quiet/chat-free session
Have any body pains or mobility restrictions
Feel nervous (especially if it’s your first time!)
Need extra breaks or position changes
Your comfort matters, we’re here to ensure that the process goes smoothly. The more we talk, the better the results; we believe great tattoos begin with great conversations.
-
Please keep in mind the following:
Skip alcohol/recreational drugs
24 hours minimum (48+ hours ideal) - this thins blood = more bleeding
Prioritize a good night’s sleep before your appointment - it makes all the difference!
-
For your safety and comfort:
Avoid tanning on the area to be tattooed. Fresh tans increase sensitivity and can affect ink application.
Take care of your skin! Let’s avoid sunburns, abrasions, and other injuries. We cannot tattoo over your skin if there is a wound.
If you have a skin condition like eczema, psoriasis, etc. let us know and we can discuss methods to prep your skin.
Hydration = Happy Skin! Drink up before your appointment! Well hydrated skin takes ink better and makes the process smoother. Bonus: it helps healing too!
Please arrive unshaved! We will prep your skin to:
Avoid razor burn
Prevent ingrown hairs
Ensure optimal ink retention
